| March 9 - 13 | Buckeye Dulcimer Festival, Ashley, Ohio. For the 15th year, Joyce will be teaching hammered dulcimer at Buckeye in the BAND IT workshop session during the extended 10-hour session on Thursday and Friday. On Saturday, Joyce will teach several hammered dulcimer sessions and an upright bass session. On Friday night, Joyce will appear in concert along with Shari Wolf and Country Strings. 'Audacity Recording Software Program' at Famous Old Time Music Company; Wapakoneta,
OH Both of these
classes are designed for the novice computer user; you do not need to have a
computer in class; instruction sheets will be provided. ---- MusicTime Music Notation Program: We will walk through the process of finding a song and putting it into music notation using the Music Time Deluxe program. If you would like to present your favorite tunes in an organized and professional looking format, this is the class for you. ---- Audacity Recording Software Program: We’ll explore Audacity, a free open source software program for all types of recording needs and some applications. (digitizing cassettes and LP records and preserving music on CDs; capturing and digitizing uncopyrighted (public domain) music from the Internet; recording your own music onto the computer. Gospel Music Retreat (with Country Strings) at the Golden Eagle
Christian Center,
Palestine, Ohio The retreat atmosphere at this wonderful venue promotes the sharing of old-time Gospel music (pre-1923). There will be learning sessions in hammered dulcimer, mountain dulcimer, both HD and MD playing and complementing each other, autoharp and group playing. Most participants say that Saturday night's community Gospel Sing might just be the highlight of the weekend. Local folks are invited to hear us play and sing in the Gospel Sing format with 'specials' by our participants and classes interspersed within the group singing. Joyce is the director of this event.
